Art Kieres Furniture LLC was founded in 2006 as Off The Bench Furniture in Boston, MA. We are now based in Salt Lake City, UT providing local and national clients with custom fine furniture for both residential and commercial settings.

Art Kieres
(founder, head designer & craftsman)
Art Kieres was born in Poland and immigrated to the US in the 1980’s. After growing up outside of Buffalo, New York he opened his first design firm, WebSpinner, in 1998. After earning Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University at Buffalo, he further studied psychopharmacology and behavioral neuroscience at Tufts University in Boston. While working on his PhD Art found respite from lab work in woodworking. While in Boston he spent 3 years apprenticing under 2 master furniture makers and has been designing and crafting fine furniture ever since. When he’s not busy running Art Kieres Furniture, Art also teaches psychology at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition to teaching standard psychology classes Art brings his extensive knowledge of both design and psychology together in a series of classes on the Psychology of Design.
